OUR STUDENTS ARE CHANGING THE FUTURE WITH AN HOUR OF CODE

We live in a world surrounded by technology. And we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly depend on understanding how technology works.

But only a tiny fraction of us are learning how technology works. Only 45% of all high schools teach computer science.

That’s why our entire school is joining in on the largest learning event in history: The Hour of Code, during Computer Science Education Week (December 9-15). More than 100 million students worldwide have already tried an Hour of Code. Our Hour of Code is making a statement that Sunyani Senior High School is ready to teach these foundational 21st-century skills. To continue bringing programming activities to your students, we want to make our Hour of Code event huge. I encourage you to volunteer, reach out to local media, share the news on social media channels and consider hosting additional Hour of Code events in the community.

There would be a special hour of code event at Sunyani Senior High School on 12th December, 2019. We invite parents, old students and the entire community to join the kickoff event on 12th December 2019.

This is a chance to change the future of education in GHANA.

See http://hourofcode.com/us for details, and help spread the word.

Thank you.

A MESSAGE FROM THE HEADMASTER

Mr. Michael Nsiah-Agyapong, Formal Headmaster

You are welcome to our website. We are indeed very grateful to God and privileged to be members of this great institution. Before the advent of universities in the Brong Ahafo Region (now Bono, Bono East and Ahafo), SUSEC was nicknamed ‘Brong Ahafo University'.

Our motto, 'Me Man Nti, Enye me Nti’, sums up what we stand for. For we live not just for ourselves but for our nation. Excellence and patriotism are our hallmarks.

Our Great School has been performing very well in all the disciplines including academic, sports, music (Choir), Drama and Cultural Troupe.

Our recent achievements include;

We got the highest points during the 2020 NSMQ Regional Qualifiers, we got 75 points, the highest in the Country.  We hope to make impressive remarks during the grand finale.

We were also the 2019 Brong Ahafo Super Zonal champions in Soccer. Our School placed second in the 2019 Cook Art Competition, Organized by Promasidor Ghana, (Onga Brand) and therefore qualified for the National Competition to be held between 16th June and 1st July 2019. First position in drum language and third position in drama at the 2018 National Cultural Festival in Koforidua.

The future of the school is very bright. We hope to improve our impressive records in future competitions.

SUSEC will be 60 years next year 2020. We therefore invite you to participate in our Launch in October this year as we prepare feverishly for the 60th Anniversary next year 2020.

SUSEC has a very vibrant and supportive Old Students Association. "SOSA".

Let me seize this opportunity to salute you for your support for the school and to wish you the very best in all your endeavours.

God Richly Bless you.
