SOSA PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS AND PRESENTATION OF COMPUTERS

Construction of Visual Arts Complex

Work is progressing steadily on the Visual Arts Complex sponsored by SOSA. Today after the presentation of 7 Computers and a Deep Freezer donated by the 1976 year group lead by Mr. Sam Bennet, a business mogul in Sunyani, Prof Opuni of UENR in the company of the SOSA General Secretary. Mrs. Rosemary Arthur (1991-O Level and 1993-A-Level), donated two of the 7 computers. Mr. Sam Bennet donated the Deep Freezer to support the Home Economics Department. Present to receive the computers were the Headmaster, Mr. Michael Nsiah-Agyapong and his able Assistants. The 7 Computers are to augment the computers at the ICT laboratory to enable the Elective ICT students to write their practical Exams during the  2021 WASSCE. With this donation, we need extra 8 computers so that the 35 students can sit for the Examination in September.

REQUEST FOR COMPUTERS FOR THE ICT DEPARTMENT

The Elective ICT students will write their maiden Elective ICT in the WASSCE this year. Meanwhile, there are only 20 computers available for use during the examination. We, therefore, wish to request our old students to help by donating computers and accessories for the use of these young ones.

The assistant Headmaster Academic, Mr.  Amoako Mark Williams has taken steps to inform SOSA Members on various WhatsApp platforms to contribute in this direction.  Reliable sources inform us that, contributions are flowing in. An old student has donated 2 laptops and accessories, they are yet to be presented to the school.   one year group has promised to donate 5 computers and accessories within the next few days.

1 CLASSROOM 1 PROJECTOR INITIATIVE(1C1P)

The new role of the 21st-century teacher is to use the technology of today in teaching the students of today, integrating technology into the classroom is the order of the day, how can a teacher integrate technology into the classroom without the requisite resources, we have therefore started the  1 CLASSROOM  1 PROJECTOR (1C1P)  initiative. With the free wifi in all SHS including SUSEC, teachers can easily use technologies like Google Earth, Youtube etc. to make abstract concepts more concrete.
